On May 26th, 2015 Tommy Hilfiger hosted an exclusive American football themed fashion show and after party. The fashion show was held at the D*Park in Beijing, China to celebrate Tommy Hilfiger’s 30th anniversary with their Fall 2015 fashion line.
Tommy Hilfiger, which is owned by PVH Corp, notes that this is their first international event. The fashion show hosted about 800 guests, and atmosphere mirrored that of an American football stadium. Shu Pei Qin, supermodel in China, hosted the event from beginning to end.
Qin was such an outstanding hostess that she was able to take over the brand’s Weibo account. With her perspective before the show, backstage, or in the front-row coverage she opened the #TommyChina brand to the global audience.
The fashion show featured top Chinese supermodels such as Xiao Wen Ju, Dylan Xue, Emma Pei, Bonnie Chen, Donni Li, Zhano Lei, and Jin Da Chuan. Also in the show were The Hilfigers models from their brand campaign which were, RJ King, Julia Hafstrom, Miles McMillian, Avery Blanchard and Malaika Firth.
Following the show, Tommy Hilfiger hosted a VIP after party that resembled an American tailgate and half time show. There were artificial turf, yard lines, goal post, and a giant jumbotron screen that displayed the name Tommy Hilfiger. Chinese female drum artists Feng Le Group, Xiao Du Paoku, and DJ Wordy performed the “half- time show”.
The Fall 2015 collection is said to fuse American football, team spirit and varsity attire, with Hilfiger’s classic design. This celebration was also to acknowledge the largest Tommy Hilfiger store location that opened at the In88 shopping center. The store is the first of its size in the country and will showcase the Hilfiger Collection.
